1987-1991: Studied BW photography at High School, including VCE Photography

1989: Monthly Merit heat awards with Age/Nikon competition
1989: Yearly award winner Age/Nikon. Won camera gear over $1,100

1990: Heat winner July. Won camera valued at $400
1990: Interviewed on "The Factory" TV show about Student Photography, work exhibited in Melbourne
1990: Completed two weeks work experience with Age newspaper after being offered to do so

1991: Ilford Award

1998-2002: Worked in TV and film production and Camera assisted and production assisted for Channel 7,9 and Ten, Grundy TV and Disney and WCW Wrestling, American companies

2002: Started University Degree in Multimedia
Completed PhotoShop courses at CAE
Completed Cert IV at RMIT in Small business management doing business plan on Photography business

2003: Started Part-time Applied Photography at NMIT
Started my own Small business called Mel Born Photographer

2003-2006: Shot Real Estate brochures and sign boards as well as products for McGee Thomson Advertising and Croft Advertising

2004: Shot brochures for Izzi and Popo and Lisa Wilson Accessories who are now regular clients

2006: Completed work placement with Age Newspaper, 16 years on for 2 weeks with 6 images printed
